There are more then 10,000 species of ants in the world Of those, 500 or more are known to exist in the USA and only a dozen or so of that group are truly known to infest structures. As we invade their territories more are becoming a pest every year. And to make matters worse, the most difficult and invasive are those ants that are introduced into the environment from other locations.
Imported Fire, White Footed and the dreaded Argentine Ant are just a few who have relocated into this country. When ants lose their natural predators then they can become extremely overwhelming very quickly.
In fact Argentine ants aren’t considered a major pest in the Argentina region.
Natural enemies and the built in birth control of territorial battles keep most ant species in check.
It is when these natural controls break down that Ants can become a serious pest issue

Do to the overwhelming types of ant species, We will concentrate on the most common ant pests in the USA.
